Sypher
Another Under Construction Page
The city of Sypher is the largest on the world it inhabits. Besides a scant few other cities, the rest of Letifer has been taken over by chaos, and mappable cities are almost impossible. Sypher has a population of approximately 1.8 million people. The city is divided by the Freeze River, and inhabits a large patch of Chaos Free land with Riot High, which is its own district, and The Silver Estates, owned by the eccentric Cat Silver.
Politics
Based on the Council of the Gods of myth, the city has three elected co-mayors who work together to make things work. These mayors are traditionally a female, male, and anti-gendered being.
Geography
Climate
Hot and dry would be related to the world outside the main walls that surround the city, but inside is a magical field upheld by a small sect of The Order of Shiel. The weather has been changed inside the dome to be more likely to uphold lifeforms, to include five different seasons. These seasons are Summer, Fall, Rair, Winter, and Spring. All of these seasons are reminiscent of Earth's except Rair, which is a short time filled with thunderstorms, and rain. This season is popular with Thundersurfers.
Flora and Fauna
Flora
One of the most well known flora of the region is the World Tree, or at least an offshoot that was borne into the city's park. It contains a vast array of magic, and a well known Magic shop is directly across the street feeding off it. Grass, lichen, and many other plants similar to Earth are found here, including most of the same herbs. Some differences occur, as they were transported there under magic, and magic has had an effect on their growing pattern. Many of the stronger herbs, already endowed with the magic of 'belief' gained enough strength to become more liberal with how they could be used.
Poisons have appeared in some common herbs, such as Rosemary, and Thyme. Others have added more medicinal properties to themselves. Mint has become highly diverse, some sects dividing into bunches with bright red leaves and orange flowers. This mint is deadly when touched, or eaten, however the scent is prized as the strongest mint known. It is commonly sold as a incense as the smell is not deadly and once burned it is as safe as a new born kitten. Its effects of poison, can be destroyed by a similar mint, this one with normal dark green leaves and dark blue flowers, that give off a mint smell constantly. It is prized for its protective influence and can destroy most Mint Poisons before they can kill you.
For a more detailed list of herbs, one can check the records which are being deciphered as you read. Please check back for more info at a later date.
Fauna
The Fauna is strange seeing as a lot of it changes. Many of those once considered beasts have turned to a more sentient lifestyle, and one can see anthropomorphics everywhere. However, some 'dumb' beasts remain. They have retained a pure wild instinct and do not hold with many of the laws Sentients have derived. Common are Lesser Gargoyles, Several types of Birds, some small lizards, Squerls, chipmunks, and domestic feline and canine pets.
A Bestiary is also in the works.
History
Letifer and Antity were borne from a paired God and a Goddess. The planet was a kind of evolutionary step up from Earth, an old scrapped project cast away by one of their kind. Earth had been causing interest by surviving without magic, or a God to guide them. Remaking this planet was simple enough, and in an 'instant' for the Gods, but many thousands of years for the inhabitants. During creation many different races had appeared along with an apparently living city. Some of these races were borne from minerals in the very planet that had been created. Others were bits of magic that stabilized enough to gain a form. Humans were immediately rare, as they were a mutation that happened to 1% of the population. Today, due to them not breeding enough, there are an extremely low number of purebred humans wandering around Sypher. Most of them are viewed as circus-like attractions, and can be treated very badly by a number of the population.
Before Sypher people tended to live on wheeled homes, or carried poles and cotton fabric in order to make temporary homes. Big platforms on wheels were created, and drawn by cartbeasts. These platforms grew fruits, veggies, and cotton for use by the nomads by themselves and to trade. Animals were also put on Platforms, allowing wool to be gathered, and food to be made from them. So buildings weren't thought of as buildings like we think of them. They needed to be moved quickly, because of the impending danger of Chaos Waves.
One of the groups of nomadic beings that traveled the deserts of Letifer happened upon the Freeze River. At the time, the unending supply of water was a surprise, and immediately the leader of the group called for them to settle there. Johnathan Wrath was the first of the members of The Order of Shiel, endowed with the power to protect. The River Freeze seemed to unlock his abilities, allowing the first true village to be built. Other outlaying Nomadic clans soon started joining them, and the city grew, named by Johnathan himself. Farms were created under the protective magic, and the World Tree sprouted. Seen as a blessing, true buildings were built.
However, other unlucky still somewhat nomadic villages nearby had become jealous. Wars were waged, and Sypher created a wall, large enough to allow the expansion of the City in the future, as it had already spread so much there was no doubt in their minds it would soon overreach the walls. The numbers of the population swelled, and other villages slowly died, or were forced to end the war, without the resources that the World Tree allowed Sypher inhabitants to tap. Ruins spotted the deserts, to be covered by the sands of the desert shifting in color and shape as it endlessly hunted for a place to stay.

Energy
Most of the city's power resources are tapped from the World Tree. The Freeze River has also been found to have the potential energy to keep the city well energized even if it were several times the size it was now. As of yet, only a bit of it has been tapped, allowing the World Tree to heal from so much use. Other energy sources have been found in the near ceaseless winds of the desert, and a select few beings who can emit sheer power from their bodies.
Economy
The economy is mostly based on trading and haggling. A monetary system was introduced as a way to legalize IOU's. Almost exclusively gained by working for the Government; the money, known as the Rin, is filtered slowly into the rest of the masses. About one half of everything bought or sold in Sypher is Rin based. Rin is easily traded into other money equivalents of the worlds currently in contact, mostly with a rather nice gain for the Rin holder.
